FAQ

Do I need a reservation, or can I just show up?
Reservations are required. We do not accept walk-ins.

What are the trails and hiking like?
We hike along informal trails and goat paths across open pastures and sloped terrain. The ground can be uneven, occasionally steep, and sometimes gravelly underfoot. While it’s not extreme hiking, you’ll want to be confident in your footing and mobility to fully enjoy the experience.

Is the hike kid-friendly?
Yes! Babies in arms or child-carrying backpacks are welcome, as well as children ages 6 and up—with adult supervision. Please note: Some children may find the goats a bit overwhelming. Our goats are friendly but rambunctious—they may jump up, lean on people, nibble fingers or shoelaces, and try to sneak a snack. Also, it's an hour-long hike and may include steep uphill walking. We do not correct the goats' behavior to accommodate individual comfort levels. If your child is frightened or unable to enjoy the experience, we will not end the hike, or offer refunds. We encourage you to be thoughtful and conservative in deciding whether this is the right outing for your child.
What should I wear?
Closed-toe shoes are a must. Long pants are best, as you will be walking through tall grasses that sometimes have burs and the is poison oak on the ranch (although we don't go near it). We recommend weather-appropriate clothing. Wear sun protection if you choose. We recommend NOT carrying hand-held purses or bags - you'll be more comfortable hands-free. Use a backpack instead.

How long is the hike?
Hikes typically last 1 hour, depending on the group's pace and interest.

What if I'm afraid of animals?
This may not be the right experience for you. Our dogs, goats, and other animals are friendly but roam freely on the ranch.

Can I bring my own dog or pet?
Sorry, for the safety of our animals and guests, no outside pets are allowed.

Are strollers or wheelchairs allowed on the hike?
The trail is natural terrain and may not be suitable for strollers or wheelchairs. Please contact us in advance to discuss accessibility.

Will there be bathrooms available?
Yes, we have a portable toilet for use at the beginning and end of the hike.
Can I feed or pet the animals?
Petting is encouraged (unless otherwise advised by staff), we do not allow goat treats as it can lead to "pushy" goat behaviour.

What’s the cancellation policy?
Full refund if canceled 24 hours in advance.
